Day 1: Our getaway adventure begins with our drive to Lexington in the heart of the Kentucky Bluegrass. Today we will enjoy the world-renowned Kentucky Horse Park. Experience the excitement of the racetrack brought to life by the elite group of champions that reside at the Park’s Hall of Champions, take a horse-drawn trolley ride, see live shows and equine presentations, the International Museum of the Horse and more. You can have lunch on your own at the Iron Works Café. Late afternoon, we will check into the lovely Marriott Griffin Gate Resort where southern charm abounds. Refresh for the evening and depart for our included dinner and an evening at the Lyric Theatre to experience WoodSongs, a celebration of grassroots music. This Old-Time Radio Hour has the motto, “You don’t have to be famous you just have to be good”, and they are! Enjoy the show and then return to the hotel for your evening. D
Day 2: A delicious breakfast will begin our day. This morning, we will meet our local guide for a tour of the beautiful Kentucky Bluegrass and hidden gems. This afternoon, we will tour Keeneland, a National Historic Landmark. On our tour we will get an insider’s view as we see the Keeneland Paddock and Grandstand, the grounds and finally the Keeneland Library, one of the world’s largest repositories of information related to the Thoroughbred. This afternoon we’ll travel back to Ohio, refreshed after a great little autumn getaway. B
